The Grill at the Old Lyme Inn may be the most
comfortable and welcoming restaurant on the Connecticut Shore.
With Its 100 year old Oak Bar, three fireplaces, and Ceiling fans,
it's a local favorite Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
The Grill is actually made up of three rooms:
The Tap Room is Open 365 days a year and
has been central to life in our town since opening almost thirty
years ago. It features a Seasonal Menu of hearty American food,
and our Grill Menu as well. The nightly "Blackboard Menu"
features lighter fare and some Old Lyme Inn Favorites like
Barbeque Ribs, Burgers and Healthy Fresh Fish dishes. In the fall
and winter the fireplace blazes nightly casting a spell on weary
travelers and neighborhood characters alike. When Connecticut
Magazine called this New London County's "Best Bar," we weren't
surprised.
The Parlor shares a menu with the Tap Room,
but is a little bit "Dressier" and is perfect for Birthdays,
Anniversaries, graduations, etc. The Parlor is set nightly with
four corner tables, but can also be reserved for
private parties
from eight to twenty people.
Beautiful Art, Brass Chandelier and a small Gas
Fireplace make the Parlor the coziest formal dining room in the
State.
The Library Bar was built by the Innkeeper
himself but feels as though it's been there forever. Oversized
Leather Wingchairs flank the wood-burning fireplace, and set the
stage for the Heart-to Heart moments often witnessed there. The
Library is the perfect place to have a drink before dinner, or to
dig in and be served course after course as the hours drift by.
The Big red Leather tufted "Chesterfield" has been occupied by
Governors, Senators, and Grandpas. Borrow a Novel from the
brimming shelves, order your favorite Single Malt and disappear
into the plot. Take the book home with you to finish and mail it
back when you're done. This is your library, not ours.
